“The purpose of life is a life of purpose.” (Robert Byrne)
Monique is a China-based Dutch entrepreneur, specializing in high quality woven and knitted garments.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering from Amsterdam Poly-tech University Institute and has over 20 years of experience in the textile industry.
She won the “Enterprising Women of the Year” award in 2012. Monique is the driving force behind Vision Textiles, Waste2Wear, and Waste2Weave.
"Most of us are already conscious of what we eat, where it comes from, and if it is healthy. We think about how we live, and we try to save energy and water in the house. But do we really think about what we wear?"
Monique constantly strives to have an innovative company with the ability to adapt to ever-changing demands created by its customers, as well as being environmentally conscious and understanding the need for a larger social impact. Producing fabrics and garments is just the tip of the iceberg for Vision Textiles, as we are focused on developing concepts that have a direct impact on communities and improving the livelihood of people around the world.
The Handloom Project “Waste2Weave”, partnered with TARA-Loom, of Dr Ashok Koshla, in India, and “Plastic Catch”, partnered with Ocean Recovery Alliance in Hong Kong, are just two examples. We are also heavily involved in charity and children’s education through our school and sports garments.
“Vision without action is dreaming; Action without vision is a waste of time; Vision with action can change the world.”
